Postone gave a sweeping lecture on the the role of Hegel's concept of Spirit in the works of Marx and Lukács. His critique of labor was disorienting for many, as was his view of capital as an "automatic subject", similar to Hegel's view of the self-mediating dynamic of Geist. After the conference, Postone mentioned that he was working on three books: one on Capital, one on the Holocaust, and one on Critical Theory. I hope they one day see the light. On the occasion of his death, I offer the following brief summary of some of his key ideas on Marx, capital and value.</p> </div><p><a href="/en/blog/moishe-postone" class="">Weiter</a></p><div class="author left"><div class="ds-1col taxonomy-term vocabulary-autorin view-mode-default clearfix"> <div class="author"><img src="http://marx200.local/sites/default/files/styles/author-thumb/public/autorinnen/jacob_blumenfeld.gif?itok=j2e06pw8" width="50" height="50" alt="" />von <span class="name">Jacob Blumenfeld</span></div></div> </div><div class="post-date left"><span class="icon-calendar2 left"></span>Mon, 03/26/2018 - 10:05</div><div class="section left"><span class="icon-bookmark left"></span><a href="/en/section/marx200">marx200</a></div><div class="tags left"><a href="/en/tags/capitalism">Capitalism</a></div>&nbsp; Mon, 26 Mar 2018 08:05:53 +0000 Frank 997 at http://marx200.local Marx's Political Militancy at the Time of the International Working Men’s Association http://marx200.local/en/blog/marxs-political-militancy-time-international-working-mens-association <div class="field field--name-title field--type-ds field--label-hidden"><div class="field__items"><div class="field__item even"><h2><a href="/en/blog/marxs-political-militancy-time-international-working-mens-association">Marx's Political Militancy at the Time of the International Working Men’s Association</a></h2></div></div></div><div class="field field--name-field-bild field--type-image field--label-hidden"><div class="field__items"><div class="field__item even"><div class="ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-default clearfix"> <picture > <!--[if IE 9]><video style="display: none;"><![endif]--> <source data-srcset="http://marx200.local/sites/default/files/styles/16_9/public/marx_m.jpg?itok=BxN-5CNQ&amp;timestamp=1519036117 1x" data-aspectratio="1200/675" media="(min-width: 70em)" /> <source data-srcset="http://marx200.local/sites/default/files/styles/16-9breakpoints_theme_marx200_tab_1x/public/marx_m.jpg?itok=wlHJaL4T&amp;timestamp=1519036117 1x" data-aspectratio="800/450" media="(min-width: 44em)" /> <source data-srcset="http://marx200.local/sites/default/files/styles/16-9breakpoints_theme_marx200_mobile_1x/public/marx_m.jpg?itok=nslnuedS&amp;timestamp=1519036117 1x" data-aspectratio="600/338" media="(min-width: 0px)" /> <!--[if IE 9]></video><![endif]--> <!--[if lt IE 9]> <img class="lazyload" data-aspectratio="" src="http://marx200.local/sites/default/files/styles/16_9/public/marx_m.jpg?itok=BxN-5CNQ&amp;timestamp=1519036117" alt="" title="" /> <![endif]--> <!--[if !lt IE 9]><!--> <img class="lazyload" data-aspectratio="" srcset="http://marx200.local/sites/default/files/styles/16_9/public/marx_m.jpg?itok=BxN-5CNQ&amp;timestamp=1519036117 1200w" alt="" title="" /> <!-- <![endif]--> </picture></div> </div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body"><p><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">The</span><b><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"> </span></b><span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">International Working Men’s Association - founded in London on September 28, 1864 - was an organization with several different political currents<span> that </span>were able to coexist with each other.
